Optimisation Task: Selecting Every Amenity (Visibility Before Optimisation)

Module 6: OwnerRez - Setting up the Channel Manager

In short

Amenities are structured data that decide which filtered searches your listing can appear in, so any item you own but do not select makes you invisible to guests searching for it. Airbnb also personalises which filters each guest sees, so you cannot optimise from your own filter screen. Selecting everything that genuinely exists, before working on photos or descriptions, gives you the widest possible visibility.

Questions people ask

Does Airbnb show every guest the same search filters?

Not necessarily. Airbnb adapts which filters appear more prominently based on each user's behaviour, so the options you see can differ from what another guest sees.

Are cheap amenities worth adding to an Airbnb?

Often, yes. Inexpensive items like a rice cooker, blender or extra pillows cost little but can widen filter eligibility and make the property feel fully equipped for years.

Where should Airbnb hosts avoid cutting corners?

Core items such as mattresses, couches, appropriately sized TVs and heating and cooling shape how guests judge value straight away, so these are worth buying well.
