Lesson: Bedding — Comfort, Cleanliness & Photography

Module 4: Designing & Setting Up Your Airbnb

In short

The bed is the focal point of most bedroom photos and the place guests spend the most time, so it shapes both bookings and reviews. Crisp, full, consistent bedding signals cleanliness and care, while a flat pillow or mismatched set undermines trust in the whole property. Because a bad night's sleep can outweigh every other good moment, every bed should be genuinely comfortable, not just the main one.

Questions people ask

Should Airbnb sheets be white?

White sheets are a common choice because they signal cleanliness and can be bleached. Many hosts pair them with a neutral, textured quilt cover for warmth in photos.

Are pushed-together single beds OK for couples in an Airbnb?

They are best avoided. Guests feel the gap between two beds, so a proper king or queen, or two clearly separate beds, gives a better night's sleep.

How many sets of linen does an Airbnb need per bed?

A common approach is three sets per bed: one on the bed, one being washed and one spare, so turnovers aren't held up by laundry.
