Listing Setup 9: Airbnb – Confirm the Channel Manager Has Full Authority

Listing Setup: Airbnb - The Setup

In short

Once a channel manager such as OwnerRez is connected to Airbnb, it should be the single source of truth for pricing, policies, amenities, photos and descriptions. Sync authority is not symmetrical: some fields are overwritten by the channel manager, some can be locked by Airbnb edits and some changes never sync back. Making structural edits only in the channel manager keeps every platform consistent.

Questions people ask

Why did my Airbnb changes disappear after syncing?

For many settings the channel manager has higher authority, so its next sync can overwrite changes made directly in Airbnb.

Can editing amenities in Airbnb stop my channel manager updating them?

It can. Manual changes to some fields in Airbnb may stop the channel manager controlling that field, leaving your listings inconsistent across platforms.

Is it ever okay to edit directly in Airbnb?

Only as a deliberate exception, for Airbnb-specific settings your channel manager cannot control, after the integration is stable.
