Lesson: Trust Signals – Reviews, Response Time, Badges and Verified Details

Module 1: Sales Funnel & Introduction into Psychology

In short

Guests book the listing they trust most, not just the best-looking one. They read trust from your rating, number and recency of reviews, your replies, your response rate and time, badges such as Guest favourite and Superhost, and verified details like identity and location. Signals that are hard to fake and consistent with each other carry the most weight.

Questions people ask

How does a listing become an Airbnb Guest favourite?

Airbnb evaluates eligible homes daily using ratings, category ratings, reviews, cancellations and other quality data. Its help centre lists a minimum of 5 reviews in the past 4 years, with at least 1 in the past 2 years.

What are the Airbnb Superhost requirements?

Airbnb checks every three months against the past year: at least 10 stays or 100 nights over 3 stays, cancellations under 1%, a 4.8+ overall rating and a 90% response rate within 24 hours.

How is Airbnb response rate calculated?

It is the percentage of new enquiries and reservation requests a host responded to within 24 hours over the past 30 days. Declining counts as a response; letting a request expire does not.
