Lesson: The Full Journey of Photos: Attraction, Proof, and Trust

Module 7: OwnerRez - Description and Photos

In short

Your listing gallery works as a story: the first photo wins the click, the next few prove the first was not a fluke, and the rest build enough trust for the guest to book. Because Airbnb, Vrbo and Booking.com each show a small set of opening photos and OwnerRez sends one gallery to all of them, the order has to work on every platform at once.

What this lesson covers

  • Your gallery is a story in three acts
  • How each platform shows your photos
  • Platform photo rules worth knowing
  • The guest’s decision journey (and where photos fit)
  • The swappable journey: different guests, different order
  • Photos 2–5: the audit window
  • The master shot list and order
  • Building your gallery: a step-by-step plan
  • Worked example: fixing a weak gallery
  • The 50-photo rule

Questions people ask

How many photos should an Airbnb listing have?

Listings with only a handful of photos can look unfinished. A larger set of strong, varied photos covering every space usually gives guests more confidence, with fewer for a small property.

Should bedroom photos come first on Airbnb?

Usually not. The opening photos are best used for the property's most distinctive features, since Airbnb already shows sleeping arrangements separately.

Are phone photos good enough for an Airbnb listing?

Professional photos are best for the main gallery, but clear phone photos are fine for showing a new feature quickly until professional shots can replace them.
