Lesson: The Sales Funnel - Basic View

Module 1: Sales Funnel & Introduction into Psychology

In short

An Airbnb sales funnel is the path a guest takes from seeing your listing in search to booking it: impressions, first-page impressions, clicks, click-to-book and bookings. Each stage loses guests, and the stages multiply, so lifting one weak stage can lift bookings without dropping your price. Knowing which stage is weak tells you whether to fix photos, fees, reviews or price, instead of guessing.

Questions people ask

What are the stages of an Airbnb sales funnel?

Impressions (appearing in search), first-page impressions, clicks on your listing card, click-to-book (guests who open the listing and book) and bookings.

Should I drop my price when bookings are slow?

Not straight away. Slow bookings often come from a weak photo, confusing fees or strict rules, so check which funnel stage is losing guests first and fix that stage.

What is a good Airbnb conversion rate?

It depends on the stage you measure. Overall search-to-booking conversion is always well under 1%, so compare your own numbers month to month and against the same period last year.
