Lesson: Handling a Network Booking From Start to Finish

Module 14: Exclusive Client Property Sharing

In short

A booking referred from one host to another should run entirely through the host who owns the property: their booking system, payment, deposit terms, rental agreement, house rules and guest messages. The referring host hands over cleanly and steps back. Keeping one booking with one host avoids confusion for the guest, keeps responsibility clear and means the revenue stays with the property's owner.

Questions people ask

Who takes the payment when a guest is referred by another host?

The host who runs the property, through their own booking system. The referring host shouldn't collect money or a holding deposit for them.

Whose house rules apply to a referred guest?

The rules of the property they booked. Each host sets their own, so the hosting host should send them clearly before arrival.

Do platform guarantees cover direct bookings?

No. Platform protection programs generally cover bookings made on that platform, so hosts should make sure their own insurance suits direct bookings.
