Lesson: Sales Funnel - A More Thorough Look

Module 1: Sales Funnel & Introduction into Psychology

In short

Airbnb ranks listings mainly on quality, popularity and price, along with how well they match the search, how easy they are to book and how reliable the host is. Because the funnel stages multiply, improving the weakest stage lifts bookings the most. Testing one change at a time against similar listings shows what actually worked.

Questions people ask

What factors affect Airbnb search ranking?

Airbnb has said its main factors are quality, popularity and price, alongside how well a listing matches the search. Ease of booking and host reliability, such as cancellations and response speed, also play a part.

Why are my Airbnb impressions dropping?

Falling impressions are usually a symptom rather than the cause. Listings that are shown but not clicked or booked tend to be shown less, so the weak point is often further down the funnel.

Do guests browse Airbnb differently on a phone?

Yes. On a phone the title is shortened and only the first lines of the description show before guests tap to read more, so the lead photo and opening words carry more weight.
