Action: OwnerRez - Activating Damage Protection

Module 6: OwnerRez - Setting up the Channel Manager

In short

OwnerRez Damage Protection is a small per-booking charge that covers minor, everyday damage that falls below your insurance excess. It is not insurance and should sit underneath a proper short-term rental policy. It tends to suit larger, higher-value homes and direct bookings, where no platform mediates disputes, while smaller properties often pay in more than they claim and Airbnb bookings already have AirCover.

Questions people ask

Is OwnerRez Damage Protection the same as insurance?

No. It is a secondary buffer for small and medium damage claims and does not replace landlord or short-term rental insurance, which you should always hold.

Should I use damage protection on Airbnb bookings?

Many hosts do not, because Airbnb already provides AirCover. Damage protection tends to add more value on direct bookings and other channels with weaker host protection.

Is damage protection worth it for a small property?

Often not. Smaller properties have lower replacement costs, so the fees can add up to more than the damage claimed over time.
